Highly Esteemed Men of Valor

wpid-wp-1432569729010.jpeg Today, most professing Christians have gotten accustomed to a comfortable level of “church attendance”. Unfortunately, the same Christians depend on the status quo, whether it is in a conscious decision or subconscious acceptance of the same culture. Likewise, these Christians do not even know what they believe in, much less be able to defend their faith if challenged. Some Christians are continuing to play church out of guilt while fear, anger, shame, addictions, depressions and pride reside in their heart. But if the Christian challenges the status quo, most of the professing but comfortable Christians will alienate themselves from the challenger. Even though you will be alone, you can make a difference as one individual because it takes faith and intimate relationship with Jesus, and you need to fully submit to God in the intimate and secret place with God.

At the outset of Christianity, the term Christian did not exist. All Christians were called Saints, believers, brethren, followers of Jesus, disciples, the faithful, Nazarenes, Messianists, the sent among other terms. Before departing to take His rightful place at the right hand of His (and our) Father, Jesus Commissioned all of us to execute on His will. Now before I provide you with the great Commission, understand the term commission. Dictionary.com defines commission as;

1. the act of committing or entrusting a person, group, etc., with supervisory power or authority.
2. an authoritative order, charge, or direction.
3. authority granted for a particular action or function.
4. a document granting such authority.
5. a document conferring authority issued by the president of the U.S. to officers in the Army, Navy, and other military services, and by state governments to justices of the peace and others.
6. the power thus granted.
7. the position or rank of an officer in any of the armed forces.

The Great Commission of Jesus is;

“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”” Mark 16:18

Today, we have to depend on the example of faith provided to us throughout the scriptures. The Author of the Epistle to Hebrews used the same examples of faith to let the Hebrew Christians understand how they are to move in the Great Commission. But the same statement also displays the act of full submission to God.

Heb 11:8-12 states ;

“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude — innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.”

We as followers of Jesus in the modern days need to understand, these great patriarchs of faith were constantly submitting themselves to God in fellowship with Him. Not only did they submit, but they revered and worshipped the Lord in a habitual way, taking delight in his commandments (Commission).

Ps 112 1 PRAISE THE Lord! (Hallelujah!) Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who fears (reveres and worships) the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments.

Moreover, do not fear to stand alone to make a difference. If through one man a difference was made, subsequently leading to That One Man to make a consequent difference; than we have to follow the example of That One Man, Jesus Christ to stand alone.
Rom 5:17 AMP For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
Likewise, keep in mind the great patriarchs, who stood alone, but either were saved, or led generations to salvation; And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. Gen 5:24. There is a similar example of a man who stood alone with God in an evil day, Noah. God, who sees the heart of every person, saw fit to save only Noah and his family. All others perished in the flood. Noah, gives an example of life as the only one who stood in faith for God; today we have a luxury to have a partner, a friend who can uplift us. The Spirit of God leads others to Jesus, because we still have the abundance of His grace! “Noah walked with God” (6:9). That phrase is used only of Enoch (5:22, 24), Noah, and the godly priests (Mal. 2:6). It is the secret of standing alone in an evil day.

Light arises in the darkness for the upright, gracious, compassionate, and just [who are in right standing with God]. Psalm 112:4

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” And he said, “Go, and say to this people: “‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’ Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.” Then I said, “How long, O Lord?” And he said: “Until cities lie waste without inhabitant, and houses without people, and the land is a desolate waste. Get inspired to break the curse off of your generation of comfort, weekend church games, and spend the first portions of the day in communication with God. Continue throughout the day by worshiping God, Communicating with Him, listening for Him. Alter your thinking regarding what we say about people, or the cares of their words. You are That One, who has to say Yes God, Here I am, Send me! Ask God to give you the boldness and courage to challenge the “status quo” and establish a new “norm”. Remember, this is what the LORD says: “Cursed are those who trust in mortals, who depend on flesh for their strength and whose hearts turn away from the LORD.” Jeremiah 17:5 But He also said to the one who thought of himself as insignificant but remained faithful “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” (Judges 6:12)
The Lord has made you highly esteemed through the Blood of Jesus. “Do not be afraid, you who are highly esteemed,” he said. “Peace! Be strong now; be strong.” When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength.” Daniel 10:19 Today you are that Strong man of God, the highly esteemed of the Lord. You are a King in the Kingdom of THE KING Rom 5:17 Start acting like one, reestablish His Kingdom and fight the Good fight.
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. Revelation 2:10
Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the first born from the dead, and the rulers of the kings of the earth.
