A few weeks ago my family and I entered a phase in our lives where our faith had to be tested. As thoughts of all sorts crept in to my mind, I felt the Lord speaking these words to me: “Pray about everything and fear nothing.” Over the next couple of days, He showed me different things about prayer versus fear. Every time I would run to Jesus, worship Him or support my wife with words of trust in Him; I witnessed how faithful He is to us. He showed me that in every case, no matter how great or important or how small or insignificant the fear was; the solution was always to pray or worship Him.
What I also noticed is, that sometimes I became afraid by focusing on our circumstances. The more I focused on the problem, the more fearful I became. Albeit, when choosing to keep my focus on God; I witnesses that He is able to handle anything that we may ever have to face in this life.
God has promised to strengthen us, to harden us to difficulties, to hold us up and retain us with His victorious right hand (Isaiah 41:10). He also commands us not to be afraid. But remember, He is not commanding us never to feel fear, but rather not to let it control us.
Remember, the Lord said to Moses, “Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon” Numbers 21:34
He also said to Joshua “And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee” Joshua 10:8
Today, the Lord says to us, “Fear not, I will help you.” But we never experience the help of God until we place everything on the line, until we are obedient enough to step out in faith.
I urge you today, do not be afraid to step out in faith, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight and Help you through all your trials.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”
1 Peter 5:7 KJV
