Our country seems to be going through many tribulations; Depression, anxiety disorders, suicide, crime rates, distrust towards government and public officials are some of the most evident issues. Howbeit there are many unseen issues going on within each home and on a personal level as well.
At one point, a leader in missions to non-Christian countries, and hope for Christians escaping persecution; we now are an allegory of Israel who walked away from the leaving God, Jehovah and into the arms of Baal’s. What is more significant, is the more or less forgotten story of the fig leaves. When Adam and Eve disobeyed their Father, immediately after their sin “they perceived that they were naked and sewed together fig leaves, making themselves loincloths“. We as humans have an unfortunate tendency to fix what we break before someone sees it. Our children try to put together a broken vase hoping we do not see it. When we make a mistake, our pride takes over, and we excuse our mistakes with what seems to be reasons. When we disobey our Father, we tend to cover ourselves with “leaves” … I read the Bible for two hours; I pray for three hours; I give to the poor so much; I go to two services twice a week, etc. But soon as the winds of the storm blow, we are naked again, ashamed and broken that our life shames are evident.
Howbeit, we have justification, not excuses and it comes in the form of our father covering us with the skins and blood of the Lamb. This is the action of God, in which the pride of a person is thrown into dust, and God does what man cannot do for himself. People can only be dressed in the righteousness of Christ when they see their own insignificance. This spiritual experience of justifying or receiving righteousness is the work of every single soul, and it cannot be obtained through any other person. Only one door leads to this experience. Faith is the condition under which God found it possible to promise forgiveness to sinners, not only that faith itself has some kind of dignity that could earn salvation, but because faith relies on the merits of Christ as a means of salvation from sin. While Dressed in the dress of Christ’s righteousness, we will not have pleasure in sin, because our lives will be under the gracious influence of Christ. The door was open, and no one can close it, no forces of earthly or another world can close it unless you close the doors of your heart and thus eliminate the presence of the Lord
Conversely, attempting to develop a virtuous character independently of Christ often leads to opposite results. The experience of salvation, affecting the soul of man, is given only by God. About this experience, Christ said: “If anyone is not born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God … If someone is not born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God”. Only through Jesus Christ can a person experience salvation, “for there is no other name under heaven given to men that we should be saved”. Jesus said: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me”.
With the Passover approaching, let us remember that only in Jesus we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace. Only through the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, our consciences are cleansed from our acts. All living things need blood for life, and Jesus has given it to us to make atonement for our remission, it is His blood that makes atonement for one’s life, and by accepting it, we enter the bloodline of a great King, becoming His Children.
Jesus reminds us of finding a more secret room to seek the face of the Father. He divided the people of His day into two categories: “Those that seek me and those that do not!” The secret is in the prayer rooms. When God was angered at Israel because of their idolatry, Moses set up a tent for prayer behind the camp. “And everyone who sought the Lord came to the meeting from outside the camp”. Although idolatry spread in Israel, there were people in their midst who continued to remain loyal to Jehovah. This remnant seeking the Lord knew that they had to go beyond the camp so that they would not fall into the apostasy that had spread among the people. I challenge you today, to seek the Lord in the secret room, be dressed in the skins of the Lamb with His blood flowing within you. Set yourselves apart from the world and those who copy the world in the Church. Be the Remnant outside the camp. Stand in the gap for his church, our nation, and the remnant to remain faithful.
